WHAT IS CHEMSKETCH?
ChemSketch, freeware from ACD Labs, is a chemical structure drawing
program. Two-dimensional chemical structures are the common
representation in textbooks and other print materials in chemistry, biology, and
the health sciences. They display the interconnectivity of atoms in the structure.
Knowing how to draw structures is required to understand them and helpful as they
are converted into three-dimensional structures. Forming three-dimensional mental image from a two-dimensional drawing is an advantage for scientists. Chime and RasMol are great aids to help develop this. This a few link that can find more information about chemsketch. As you can see from pictures above are actually my drawing a few molecule in chemsketch.
This a few link that can find more information about chemsketch:
1) www.sciencebase.com/aug04_iss.htm (chemsketch software)
These are few functions of icon in the chemsketch:
| Names | Positions Of Toolbars |
| Title Bar | Shows the name of the program and the name of the currently open file and the default file name is NONAMExx.SK2, where ‘xx’ is a counter |
| Menu Bar | contains a series of words which each word links to a list (‘menu’) of related commands for working in the ChemSketch window in Structure mode |
| ChemBasic Toolbars | located below the General toolbar is optional and contains Goodies or other ChemBasic applications |
| Structure Toolbars | placed right above the workspace and only present in the Structure mode and contains tools for drawing and manipulating chemical structures. |
